For my gesture drawings lately I have been using an old book that I got from a thrift store. I started my first novel-turned-sketchbook when I was in Spain a few years ago on study abroad--and it is my favorite solution to my sketchbook dilemma (which is, I don't like making them and I don't like buying them)
